Refund Policy
MAFAA Conference Fee Payment/Fee Refund Policy
  • A full refund will be granted for refund requests made in writing to the Treasurer and postmarked/dated/e-mailed no later than 15 days prior to the start of the event. Exceptions for extenuating circumstances (e.g. medical emergency) shall be reviewed by the Financial Management Committee.
  • Paid registration fees may be transferred to another current MAFAA member.
  • Unless a refund has been requested and authorized according to the above, registrants are fully obligated for the cost of the event regardless of attendance.
MAFAA Fee Payment Policy for Training
  • For 2016-2017, MAFAA will not charge a fee for any training opportunity except conferences and the NASFAA training materials. To prevent MAFAA from paying for non-attendance, the following policy will be in effect for the 2016-2017 year.
  • MAFAA paid members shall register for training free of charge until training event is at capacity. If MAFAA member does not attend the training event and does not cancel participation in the training event more than 14 days prior to event, then the MAFAA member will be billed $25. Payment will be due within 30 days.
  • Non-MAFAA members or non-paid MAFAA members can register for training events sponsored by MAFAA. Each training event will be offered to these two groups at a cost of $50. If training fee is not paid before training event, the trainee will be expected to bring/have a check to cover expense at event check in. Event coordinator will be expected to collect payment on site. Treasurer Elect will sent event coordinator a list of payments made prior to event. Trainee can then contact employer for reimbursement. The payment of $50 will constitute paid MAFAA membership for one year and make the person eligible to attend other training events free of charge for the remainder of the 2016-2017 year.
