    Summit Academy has an exciting opportunity for a qualified person to join our company in the role of Financial Aid Manager.  This is a very key position for our company and we are looking for a dynamic individual to fill this position.  Financial aid expertise in higher education is a must for anyone to receive serious consideration for this position. 

    The Financial Aid Manager is responsible for ensuring that objectives, goals, budgets, policies, practices and actions related to financial aid processes are consistent with Summit Academy OIC’s mission and strategic plan for student success. This position is responsible for managing all financial aid activities in manners consistent with federal, state, local, accreditation and regulatory compliance.

    Essential Functions for this Position Include the Following:

    Educating adult learners with limited knowledge of college enrollment on financial aid processes and expectations.  

    Responsible for presenting financial aid information and processes to prospective students in various settings.

    Establish and enforce student guidelines and expectations in regards to student financial aid processes.

    Performs the financial aid portion of any federal, state or other audit

    Completes reports to state and federal entities.

    Processes all student financial aid in a timely manner

    Maintains Accurate and thorough documentation of all student financial aid files.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Assists in the development and implementation of the institution's marketing plan.

    Collaborates across all departments to contribute to the retention of students.

    Financial Aid Advisor

    United Theological Seminary

    United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities is hiring a full-time Financial Aid Advisor for its student enrollment team.

    This student services role will counsel and advise students on federal and institutional student financial aid programs and help students effectively and appropriately fund their seminary education.

    The Financial Aid Advisor will work directly with a third party student financial aid processing partner to evaluate financial aid applications to determine student eligibility for merit and need-based institutional aid and federal loan programs, collect and maintain student data, and ensure that financial aid operations are complaint with state and federal laws and regulations, as well as seminary policies.

    Financial Aid Officer

    Rasmussen College

    Rasmussen College is growing our Financial Aid team! We are currently seeking a candidate with a background in finance or financial aid/loan processing to support our central services function.

    This position’s primary purpose is to review student financial aid eligibility documentation and prepare accurate financial aid award packages for prospective and current students. The position is responsible for tracking and processing all necessary information and paperwork, determining eligibility and preparing financial aid awards while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, audit requirements and the College’s policies.  This position works closely with the College’s Program Managers and Advisors, within our One Stop Services Model (OSSM), to advise and counsel Program Managers and Advisors who in turn counsel students on financial aid options, the application and awarding process.

    Responsibilities:

    Processing and Awarding:  45%

    • Implement financial aid policies as directed, ensuring compliance to state and federal regulations, audit requirements and the College’s policies.
    • Review financial aid applications and eligibility documentation submitted by the student to determine eligibility for financial aid awards.
    • Responsible for completing verification according to established federal regulations, quality assurance and C code resolution.
    • Provide information through the College’s student information system, to admissions and advising team members, in an effort to obtain missing documentation needed from the student to complete the financial aid application.
    • Maintain minimum weekly award package completion rates as defined by Student Financial Aid leadership.
    • Maintain accurate knowledge of the College’s products and services.
    • Remain current in the financial aid field through professional development, such as workshops, conferences, state and regional associations and course work.
    • Ensure accurate and effective representation of the College and follow-through with prospective students, enrolled students, business community and high school officials.

    Record Keeping/Documentation:  45%

    • Prepare financial aid award packages based on documentation submitted.
    • Follow processes and procedures that streamline the awarding and delivery of the aid programs.
    • Review and certify private loan applications on a weekly basis. Ensure accurate and timely tracking and documentation of such.
    • Accurately track financial awarding to ensure timely approval and payment.
    • Maintain eligibility to access the National Student Loan Data System, (NSLDS), as defined by the US Department of Education. (To maintain access to NSLDS, one must not have defaulted on any student loan in the past, be in default currently or have issues with access to NSLDS in the future.)

    Other: 10%

    • Attend and participate in team, student finance, department meetings for the purpose of obtaining and sharing information.
    • Participate in lean processes and strategic planning activities.
    • Embody the spirit of the College’s mission and vision in daily activities.
    • Support and contribute to Rasmussen’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
    • Perform other duties as directed, requested or assigned

    Requirements:

    • Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related discipline; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
    • Minimum of one to three years of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably within a financial aid, finance counseling or loan processing environment.
    • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands with minimal supervision; maintain records and files with precision and accuracy.
    • High level of professionalism and telephone etiquette.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • High aptitude for math.
    • General knowledge of the higher education industry preferred, but not required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Working knowledge of financial software, CampusNexus, preferred.
    • Good command of the English language, in both oral and written form

    Capella University is seeking an Associate Financial Aid Advisor to provide financial aid support to our learners within the Office of Financial Aid. This position is the central point of contact for learners seeking financial aid eligibility, packaging, awarding, and disbursement information—along with financial aid customer service support while pursuing a degree at CU.  This position has a targeted start date of Monday, March 12th. 

    Responsibilities

    Learner Support-

    • Provide CU learners with a positive experience, personal attention, and guidance through the financial aid process
    • Respond to in-bound telephone requests from learners and internal enrollment and academic partners to provide advice and information regarding financial aid inquiries
    • Provide superior customer service and problem resolution to learners and internal partners by setting service expectations and self-service options
    • Effectively communicate with enrollment services personnel to ensure future learners have obtained appropriate documentation for financial aid packaging/tuition funding
    • Document all caller interactions and provide appropriate and timely financial aid responses

    Emails and Outbound Support-

    • Provide appropriate and timely responses to learner emails; ensure emails are written in a professional manner representing Capella University 
    • Make outbound calls to follow up with learners as needed and complete outbound call campaigns that align with communication strategies
    • Proactively work on learners’ inquires to provide a high level of customer service

    Training and Development-

    • Participate in mentor/team/department/company trainings and meeting to contribute to knowledge base
    • Review resources, updates, and communications to remain current in specific job duties
    • Develop a Subject Matter Expertise in area(s) of financial aid, billing, military, etc.

    Process Improvement and Project Support -

    • Identify, communicate, and make recommendations for improvement to existing processes/procedures for the benefit of our learners
    • Seek out and/or identify projects. Work on projects with diligence and accuracy until completion 

    Customer Relationship management and Ownership-

    • Take ownership of learner issues and work collaboratively with internal partners to bring resolution 
    • Supporting internal customer needs, respond to and communicate requests in a professional manner

    *Other duties as assigned


    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree preferred. Some college experience required; or 1+ year(s) of transferable customer service experience (preferably phone-based), or 1-3 years of previous financial aid experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • In good standing with the Department of Education on Student Loans
    • Ability to function efficiently and utilize good time management skills in a fast paced and demanding work environment
    • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
    • To be considered as an applicant and maintain employment in this role, you must not at the present time or in the past, have been in default on student loans

     

    Additional Required Competencies/Skills Examples: 

    • Ability to handle complex customer resolution issues, while applying information, policies, and  an assessment of unique circumstances; and resolving issues with a reasonable level of autonomy
    • Knowledge of federal regulations with financial aid and knowledge of a variety of financial aid programs and ability to apply this information to problem-resolution
    • Displayed success in achieving and sustaining objectives and performance metrics
    • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Organizational skills—ability to prioritize, manage multiple demands and present information in a clear and concise manner
    • Strong technological skills and aptitude. Including the use and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, applied expertise accessing internet or systems-based information, PeopleSoft, CRM and other financial aid related software and internet applications
    • Understanding of federal regulations associated with financial aid and knowledge of a variety of financial aid programs and ability to apply this information to problem-resolution
    • Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor at all times
    • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills with ability to interact effectively with senior management, direct supervisors, and colleagues
    • Excellent relationship-building, customer service, and problem resolution skills

    Scheduling:

    • Availability: Must be available to work 8am – 4:30pm during training (approx. 2 weeks) After training the Financial Aid Office is open from 7am-8pm, and must be available to work an 8.5 hour shift between the hours of 7am-8pm. *For those working the evening shift (11:30 am – 8:00 pm) parking is paid
