    The Financial Aid Office at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time Financial Aid Counselor.


    St. Catherine University is committed to serving students who need and want financial assistance. The Financial Aid Office administers in excess of $100 million in student financial aid annually from federal, state, institutional, and private sources to students from a wide variety of backgrounds. Our team collaborates with students to ensure they understand their options, choices and commitments. The Financial Aid Counselor will join a team with long-standing dedication to St. Catherine University and to growing a diverse student body. The Financial Aid Counselor administers and awards federal, state, institutional and private aid to students. For many students financial aid is a critical component of their decision to join us at St. Catherine University.

    Responsibilities:

    • Represent St. Catherine University to diverse student applicants and their families as a collaborative and helpful campus resource, providing excellent customer service to all.
    • Counsel students and parents from a wide array of backgrounds regarding eligibility and requirements for federal, state, institutional, and private student financial aid programs to meet student needs.
    • Review student financial aid applications and determine eligibility following federal, state, and institutional policies.
    • Complete federal Verification and resolve conflicting data.
    • Repackage or revise aid due to student status changes and evaluate applications where there are extenuating circumstances.
    • Prepare and deliver financial aid presentations to the campus community and external audiences.
    • Liaise with community stakeholders for teacher grant and scholarship programs.
    • Collaborate with team members to update financial aid application materials and procedures and regulations and requirements change.

    Wage range: $45,000 to $50,000

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Associate Degree
    • One (1) year experience in higher education in offices like financial aid, admissions, or other student services areas.
    • Dedication to providing excellent customer service to St. Catherine University community
    • Ability and desire to work with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds
    • Proven ability to work as a team member, exceptional organizational and interpersonal communication skills
    • Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid policies and regulations
    • Ability to think creatively and analytically to resolve complex problems
    • Ability to analyze and interpret data and make independent decisions
    • Keen attention to detail and accuracy; ability to follow thorough and resolve conflict
    • Demonstrated proficiency with computer mainframe and software
    • Ability to meet deadlines and process a high volume of work with great accuracy
    • Experience using the Banner information database

    Director of Educational Access and Disability Resources

    Job Summary:

    The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and oversee the daily operations and administration of the Accessibility Services Office to ensure access and implement coordinated support services and programming for students with documented disabilities to enhance their academic success. Duties include, but are not limited to: assessing student needs, providing advocacy and support, program development, ensuring the provision of reasonable accommodations, serving as a campus wide college resource and expert in disability law and policy, including The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Minnesota State Access and Accommodations Policy (1B.4). This position serves as the student campus ADA contact and coordinator. In addition, this position provides education, training, and/or support for prospective and current students and their parents, faculty, and staff of the college and high schools regarding accessibility student issues.

    This position also provides professional level academic, career, financial aid, and transfer advising services to students at Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) in collaboration with other college professionals.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Three years’ experience working with people with disabilities
    • Experience with legal requirements of Americans with Disability Act and Section504 of the Rehabilitation Act
    • Ability to review documentation and assess need for accommodations
    • Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service to students,families, staff, faculty, and the community
    • Ability to collaborate with a team to assess and proactively support academic,social, and basic needs
    • Computer proficiency including ability to serve students virtually

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s Degree in rehabilitation counseling, social work, human services,counseling or related field
    • Higher education experience in areas of accessibility services, advising or careerand educational planning; experience collaborating with faculty
    • Strong communication skills: written, verbal, and listening
    • Strong interpersonal skills: face-to-face and virtually
    • Knowledge and experience of laws related to the confidentiality of studentrecords in higher education setting
    • Knowledge of adaptive technology and universal design
